Shopping cart

Space is limited to 50 memberships.  Prices are the same as last year, though this year we’ve included the delivery fee in the price to keep it simpler.

Payment plan option: Three installments–Send us three checks in thirds.  Date the first check for today.  Post-date the other two for any time before August 15, 2010.

We recommend a full share for most people. The half share is designed for older persons or single persons.  Our 1/2 share offers include the same contents, half as much.

We use organic growing practices.  Learn more about us and our growing practices. We work with our neighbors to supply some items that we don’t grow, such as most fruits. Whenever possible we work with other organic growers.  However, most fruits are not available organically, so they won’t all be organic.  All items are always local.

Gift Cards, Gift Subscriptions, and Donation Subscriptions

We have gift cards available for buying items at our booth–$25, $50, $100.  Send us a check and designate “gift card” and we will mail you the amount requested.  They are also available at our booth.

We gladly welcome CSA gift subscriptions or donation subscriptions for any of the 2010 CSA options.  For a gift subscription, write “gift subscription” in the memo line of your check and include a note with the contact information of the designee.

For a donation subscription, we have a list of lower-income families in our community who would appreciate a subscription.  Or if you have designees in mind, we can deliver to them as well.  Write “donation subscription” on your check, and include the contact info of the designee, if you have one, and whether or not you’d like the gift to be anonymous.

2010 CSA Share Descriptions

Summer Vegetable Share

18 weeks of premium quality, fresh, local, in-season vegetables from June through September

The summer boxes feature tomatoes, sweet corn, head lettuce, green onions, green beans, peppers, carrots, and much more.  We emphasize fresh: most crops are harvested the day before or even the day of delivery.  We grow almost everything that you will receive in your boxes, and we partner with some of our Amish neighbors and other local farmers to supply some items. You will receive a wide variety of vegetables each week. Pick up weekly at our farm or at a drop-off location.  For a complete list and description of summer share vegetables, click here.

Summer Fruit Share

18 weekly deliveries from June-September of a variety of fresh, local fruits

Fresh peaches, apricots, cherries, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, apples, pears—our region is rich in fresh fruit. Over the past several years we have developed relationships with several local fruit growers and also source fruit from Michigan farmers.  Note: Must be a summer vegetable share member.

Late Season Share and Student Share

11 weeks (Late Season Share)/13 weeks (Student Share) of late season foods.  Student Share runs Sept. 10-Dec. 3 (the length of a semester).  Late Season Share runs Oct. 8-Dec. 17.

Apple cider, crisp head lettuce, carrots, potatoes, pumpkins, squash, spinach, onions, garlic, Japanese turnips, French radishes—Don’t let the end of summer stop you from eating fresh, local food.  You will be surprised the the diversity of quality foods available right up to Christmas.  Quantities and delivery schedule are the same as the summer share.  For a complete list of late season vegetables, click here.

Frequently asked questions…

How much food will I receive?

Boxes start out smaller, around ¼ bushel, in May and June and consist of leafy greens, radishes, peas, spinach and other early vegetables. As the summer progresses, you will receive ½ or ¾ bushel boxes full of tomatoes, peppers, garlic, green beans, melons, green onions, new potatoes, zucchini, and more. Past CSA members have included couples who eat vegetables at most meals and families of up to six people.

Will I Have Leftovers?

We help you minimize waste and plan your meals by sending you a weekly e-newsletter describing what’s in your box, along with storage tips and recipes. Also, some CSA customers choose to share a CSA with another party.

How do I find my drop-off location?

Drop-off locations are usually to the porch or garage of an existing CSA member, with a three-hour pick-up window. After we have the 2010 membership list finalized, we will choose drop off locations that are most centrally located for our customeers.  Customers may also choose to pick up at our farm or at the Goshen Farmers Market.

Welcome to Clay Bottom Farm

We are a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farm, located 7 miles east of Goshen, Indiana. We are young people dedicated to sustainable agriculture and to providing customers a source of fresh, local fruits and vegetables. We offer deliveries of fresh fruits and vegetables June-December in Goshen, Middlebury, and Warsaw. We also have a booth at the Goshen Farmers Market.
